If you are looking for your next role in an energetic and ambitious company this role is for you. We are going through an exciting phase of our development where we are expanding into new market segments and require robust foundations in order to support our market growth.

Victorian Sliders has already established itself as a prominent and reputable leader in the field of sash window manufacturing. With a strong heritage and a steadfast commitment to customer service excellence, we have become synonymous with quality, innovation, and craftsmanship in the industry. As we seek to take this further, we require exceptional people to enhance our already outstanding team.

The role of the Business Development Manager is to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities in pursuit of increased market share and sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new revenue streams, building strategic relationships, and converting prospects into long-term customers through a proactive and consultative approach. Whilst the customer base is primarily B2B in nature, the successful candidate will be required to understand customer objectives and provide commercially focused solutions that support their business needs. The BDM will be comfortable dealing with a varied customer base operating across retail and commercial markets. The role is customer-facing, spending the vast majority of time identifying and meeting prospective customers, developing opportunities, and working alongside office-based sales, customer service, and operational teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. Strong commercial awareness, networking ability, relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in new business development are essential. Sector knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Sales & market data analysis to identify opportunities

  • Analyse sales performance, market trends, customer behaviours, and competitor activity to identify areas for growth.
  • Identify new opportunities for business development and capitalise on emerging markets, sectors, and customer requirements.
  • Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to support business planning and decision-making.

Deal with changing customer requirements / market conditions

  • Develop flexible business development approaches and respond promptly to changing customer needs, industry trends, and market conditions.
  • Ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed through tailored solutions and services.
  • Adapt strategies to maintain competitiveness and maximise business opportunities.

Relationship management, building rapport and providing solutions

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers by understanding their business needs and objectives.
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders, build trust, and position the company as a valued business partner.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate new business through relationship development and consultative selling.
  • Strengthen customer loyalty and encourage repeat business through exceptional service and tailored solutions.

Developing products and services

  • Work closely with operational and product development teams to ensure customer feedback and market requirements are considered in the development and enhancement of products and services.
  • Identify gaps in the market and opportunities for innovation that support business growth.

  • Stay informed about industry developments, market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies through ongoing research and networking.
  • Share relevant market intelligence, customer feedback, and commercial insights with internal teams to support business improvement and growth initiatives.

Being an active participant and team player in the positive development and growth of a continuous improvement culture.
