Bakery Sales Assistant – Saturdays

The Corner Bakery, Terenure, Dublin 6W

We're looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic sales assistant to join our small team at The Corner Bakery, a busy neighbourhood bakery serving the local community since 2005.

This is a regular Saturday position, working in our busy neighbourhood shop. You'll be serving customers, preparing coffees, keeping the shop looking its best and helping everything run smoothly throughout the day.

What you'll be doing

  • Welcoming and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Preparing coffees and other drinks
  • Helping customers choose from our range of cakes, pastries, breads and treats
  • Operating the till and handling payments
  • Packaging cakes and preparing customer orders
  • Restocking and maintaining attractive product displays
  • Keeping the shop, counters and equipment clean and tidy
  • Following food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Working closely with colleagues in the shop and bakery kitchen
  • Taking responsibility for opening and/or closing the shop, including cleaning and till procedures

What we're looking for

  • A friendly, helpful manner and good customer service skills
  • Reliability, punctuality and a sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organised during busy periods
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a small team
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to help with a variety of tasks
  • Previous retail, café or customer service experience is an advantage.

Full training will be provided, including coffee preparation and opening and closing procedures.

Hours

Saturdays, 8am–5pm

8½ paid hours, with a 30-minute unpaid break.

Occasional additional shifts may be available to cover holidays or busy periods.

We offer a friendly working environment in a small, established neighbourhood business, with varied duties and the opportunity to develop customer service and barista skills.

Pay: From €14.15 per hour

Expected hours: 8.5 per week
