Full job description

An established, busy daytime café is looking for a Prep Cook / Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone with previous food preparation experience and a genuine interest in good food. Your week will typically be split between food preparation and kitchen porter duties, so we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of every aspect of a busy, professional kitchen.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous hands-on food preparation experience (essential).
  • Has a genuine interest in food and quality ingredients.
  • Is organised, reliable and hard-working.
  • Takes pride in cleanliness, attention to detail and high standards.
  • Is happy to support the team wherever needed.
  • Is fully flexible and available to work 4–5 days over a 7-day roster, between 7:30am and 3:30pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Food preparation and assisting with service.
  • Kitchen porter duties and maintaining an exceptionally clean kitchen.
  • Receiving and organising deliveries.
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service.
  • Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
