Full job description

The Oliver St. John Gogarty Bar and Restaurant winner of the Good Eating Guide Best Gastro Pub in 2013, is located in Temple Bar in the centre of Dublin City. Gogartys is one of the must visit venues in Temple Bar and is well established as an icon of the area. It comprises extremely busy bars spread over a number of levels and a restaurant and serves a dynamic customer base. This establishment has a wide and varied food offering in both the bars and restaurant.

The Oliver St. John Gogarty has vacancies for kitchen porters looking to form part of a dynamic team. The positions would suit applicants with at least 1 year prior experience in kitchen position and looking to further their career and enthusiastic about new challenges.

The main requirements and responsibilities are as follows:

  • To follow all cleaning schedules for the Kitchen areas.
  • To adhere to all food safety regulations as listed in the HACCP manual.
  • To follow all health and safety guidelines, particularly in relation to using chemicals and manual handling.
  • To wash all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, glassware and kitchen utensils and ensure they are cleaned to a high standard.
  • To sweep and mop floors using the correct chemicals and equipment.
  • To store all Kitchen items in the correct place.
  • To empty all bins in a timely manner and follow the recycling guidelines whilst doing so.
  • To keep the kitchen clean and tidy and to an agreed standard.
  • To take directions from and communicate effectively with the head chef and chef de partie on duty.
  • Strong work ethic and organisational skills
  • Work as part of a fast-paced team
  • The ability to prioritize and help out where needed in other cleaning departments
  • Candidate must be flexible and be available to work weekends and evenings.
