Job Objectives
We are seeking applications for the role of a Basic Grade Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological services across Nua Healthcare Services, supporting children and adults with a range of complex intellectual disabilities, mental health difficulties, and associated support needs.
This will include the following on a day-to-day basis:
- Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
- Provide a range of psychological services as required including assessment, review, programme implementation, behaviour management and diagnostics
- Promote and deliver services within the Company ethos and philosophy.
- Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing an integrated and
- coordinated service to our service users and contribute to the development of person-centred plans.
- Provide advice/support programmes and training for parents and families.
- With the Team, maintain statistical records and input to service reports and other relevant reports as required.
- Ensure that professional standards are maintained.
- Monitor and keep up to date with developments in Psychology and early intervention, including attending training courses and participating in research and development.
- Contribute towards the on-going development of the service as required
- Maintain quality standards within the service and participate in quality development.

Skills Requirement
Essential Criteria:
- Possess a recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
- Candidates currently completing their postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology may be considered.
- Candidates must meet the registration requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or be eligible for registration.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and evidence-based practice.
- Commitment to working within professional, ethical, and clinical governance frameworks.
Key Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, emotional awareness, and a psychologically informed approach.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and IT skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality clinical documentation and reports.
- Ability to contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn, develop, and engage in supervision and training.
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to the values and ethos of Nua Healthcare Services.

- Experience of working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health difficulties, and/or other complex needs is desirable.
