Assistant Shop Manager – Dublin Airport

KSG Catering is a leading provider of café, restaurant, retail, and hospitality services to a broad range of clients and blue-chip companies. Our mission is to deliver excellence in food, retail, and customer service to enhance the daily experience of our customers.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at Dublin Airport, terminal 1 for our new Deli/Food retail outlet.

We are looking for a motivated retail professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Role Details

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Rostered 5 days over 7, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Candidates must have full-time working rights in Ireland (minimum 40hours/week)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of the retail unit
  • Supervising and motivating the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve store objectives
  • Assisting with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and day-to-day team management
  • Supporting opening and closing procedures while ensuring company standards are maintained
  • Taking responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Shop Manager
  • Assisting with stock control, inventory management, stock takes, and ordering processes
  • Monitoring waste and stock loss while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Supporting sales growth initiatives, promotional activities, and customer engagement campaigns
  • Ensuring the store is well presented, fully stocked, and merchandised to a high standard
  • Handling customer queries, feedback, and complaints professionally and effectively
  • Supporting compliance with health and safety requirements, cash handling procedures, and loss prevention policies
  • Monitoring store performance and contributing ideas to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail supervisory or assistant management role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced customer-focused retail environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good understanding of stock control, cash handling, and store operations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to improving store performance
  • Knowledge of health and safety and operational compliance requirements
