Corrib House Tea Rooms & Guest Accommodation is a boutique café and guest house located in the heart of Galway City. We pride ourselves on providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food and coffee, and outstanding service to both our café customers and overnight guests.

We are now seeking an Assistant Front of House Manager to join our friendly and professional team. A minimum of 2 full years experience in a similar position is required.

The Assistant Front of House Manager will support the day-to-day running of the Tea Rooms and Guest Accommodation. This role involves both hands-on front-of-house work and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations and high service standards at all times. The successful candidate will act as the key point of contact in the absence of the Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee the daily front-of-house operations of the café and guest accommodation.
  • Supervise and assist the team in delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Wait tables, take orders, and serve food and beverages as required.
  • Prepare and serve coffees and other beverages to a high standard.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels, placing orders when necessary.
  • Assist in staff training, scheduling, and motivation.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth guest experience.
  • Address and resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Support the Manager in implementing and maintaining operational procedures.
  • Help maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the premises at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of 2 years minimum in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality (café, restaurant, or guest accommodation).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Barista skills and experience in food service essential.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP and general food safety requirements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and lead by example.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required.
  • A positive, professional, and hands-on attitude.
