Stock Control Manager

Auralia Hospital, Park West, Dublin 12
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm
Starting Salary: €38,500 + Pension Contribution

Auralia Hospital is seeking an experienced Stock Control Manager to take responsibility for the management, monitoring and control of medical and non-medical stock across our hospital.

This is a highly autonomous position. We are looking for someone who is experienced in stock control, comfortable taking ownership of their area and capable of ensuring that the hospital has the products and supplies it needs, when it needs them, without unnecessary overstocking or waste.

The Role

The Stock Control Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for monitoring and controlling stock levels across the hospital, covering both medical and non-medical products and consumables.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of our ongoing stock requirements, maintain appropriate stock levels, identify upcoming requirements and ensure products are ordered and available when required.

A significant part of the position will involve medical products and consumables. For this reason, previous experience or a strong understanding of medical stock control would be a major advantage.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring stock levels across medical and non-medical products and consumables
  • Maintaining appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels
  • Ensuring essential products are consistently available to hospital teams
  • Identifying stock requirements and arranging orders in a timely manner
  • Monitoring usage and identifying unusual increases, shortages or unnecessary wastage
  • Checking incoming deliveries against orders and ensuring stock is correctly received and stored
  • Monitoring expiry dates and implementing appropriate stock rotation
  • Maintaining accurate stock records and systems
  • Liaising with hospital departments to understand their ongoing and upcoming stock requirements
  • Working with suppliers regarding orders, availability and deliveries
  • Identifying opportunities to improve stock control, organisation and purchasing processes
  • Taking overall ownership of the hospital's stock control function

Who We Are Looking For

This is not an entry-level stock control position.

The Stock Control Manager will operate with a high level of independence, and previous significant experience in stock control/ inventory management is essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within a hospital, healthcare, medical, pharmaceutical or similar environment and already understand the additional considerations involved in managing medical products and consumables.

What We Offer

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, providing regular daytime hours with no weekend work.

The starting salary is €48,500 per annum, together with an additional employer pension contribution equivalent to 2.5% of salary.

Previous relevant experience is essential. Candidates with medical or healthcare stock control experience will be particularly welcomed.
