Full job description

Cpl Healthcare is thrilled to be awarded Tier 1 status and is one of four Tier 1 suppliers of agency staff to the HSE nationwide. As a result, we are now seeking Porters to join our agency panel for placements across HSE healthcare settings throughout Ireland.

The Role

Working across a variety of hospital and community healthcare settings, you will provide porter services as directed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure proper service is provided to patients in line with HSE best practice including but not limited to transporting of patients to and from various departments, food/pharmacy/stores/clinical waste/ laundry/ charts/ equipment and other deliveries and collections as required.
  • Set up and move medical equipment as directed, maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage areas and assist in cleaning and restocking theatres after procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate quality standards are met throughout the hospital
  • To observe hospital policies and procedures on discretion relating to patients and families
  • Follow hospital policies for infection control and safety to ensure a secure environment for all and ensure appropriate quality standards are met throughout the hospital
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EHO, HIQA and HACCP guidelines

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Obtained at least D (or pass) in Higher or Ordinary Level in five subjects from the list of subjects in the Department of Education established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Leaving Certificate applied

or

  • Passed an examination of at least equivalent standard

or

  • Have obtained Health skills or Healthcare qualification at a QQI Level 5

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working as a porter in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Strong communication skills
