Our Business Development Representative (BDR) team is part of our wider Sales Business, focusing on generating new business and whitespace pipeline through prospecting outbound opportunities with the ultimate goal of closed won business. In this specialist role, you will focus on either of Salesforce's most impactful and fastest-growing verticals — Public Sector (government bodies, central ministries, local authorities, and public agencies) AND .ORG (non-profits, NGOs, and education institutions) — helping to drive Salesforce's mission of digital transformation where it matters most.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced team with varied future customers and personalised training and career opportunities.

Why Join Salesforce as a Business Development Representative?

Sales Development is the foundation of our sales organisation where new business opportunities come to life. Within the BDR role, we support outbound sales teams by assisting them through strategic prospecting efforts and extensive account research. BDRs consistently make a tangible impact in the Sales Development Organisation by generating millions of dollars of new business pipeline each year.

In the Public Sector & .ORG verticals, you'll be at the forefront of Salesforce's mission-driven work — helping governments modernise citizen services and enabling non-profits and educational institutions to maximise their impact. Salesforce is positioned as the #1 AI CRM for Public Sector digital transformation , giving you a powerful story to tell.

Additionally, BDRs are enrolled in an intensive sales training programme designed to provide new professionals with the fundamental skills necessary to achieve a successful sales career at Salesforce.

  • Generate new business pipeline primarily through prospecting outbound opportunities across Public Sector OR .org accounts
  • Manage inbound leads that are driven by outbound effort
  • Nurture early-stage opportunities within government, local authority, non-profit, and education accounts
  • Gain interest through outbound cold calling across a set of existing Salesforce customers and breaking into net new logos in your assigned territory
  • Partner with core sellers to identify and source net new pipeline, assisting by researching lines of business, personas, and organisational structures within the public and social sectors
  • Align with internal account teams across the Public Sector OR .ORG business units
  • Identify key decision makers and budget holders within new accounts, navigating the unique procurement and decision-making processes of public and non-profit organisations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in English and an additional language , as well as a valid working visa for Ireland, are required for this role
  • Experience in business development, sales, or a related field — experience in or a passion for public sector, non-profit, or education sectors is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and across many different parts of the organisation to get things done
  • Experience researching, account planning, prospecting, and cold calling into a large list of new and existing accounts
