Full job description

This is a Community Employment scheme. It is a developmental opportunity, with no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. There will be an opportunity to work towards QQI and /or Industry Standard qualifications.

Please Note: Applicants must be eligible for Community Employment (CE) - Please contact your local DSP Employment Services/Intreo Office to check your eligibility. Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those in receipt of a qualifying Social Welfare payment for 1 year or more.

Applicants will be required to supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting application form.

Duties will include (Training will be provided):

  • Supporting Service Users at our Day Centre in Waterford City
  • Delivering development programmes to Service Users.
  • Accompanying Service Users on outings.
  • Providing personal care for Service Users.
  • Operating lifting equipment on buses.
  • Clamping Wheelchairs aboard buses.
  • Cleaning and maintenance duties.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to engage in training.

Location: Waterford City, County Waterford.
Hours per week: 19.5 Hours
