Full job description

Due to continued growth and our upcoming residential development in Templemore, Co. Tipperary, SOLA is looking for Quantity Surveyors at both Senior and Junior level to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing construction company and become involved in projects from the early costing and procurement stages right through to construction and final account.

We are interested in hearing from both experienced Quantity Surveyors and Junior/Graduate Quantity Surveyors who are looking to develop their careers within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of project costings, budgets and cost plans.
  • Measurement and preparation of Bills of Quantities.
  • Procurement and evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Preparation of subcontract packages and comparison of tenders.
  • Monitor project costs against budgets throughout construction.
  • Preparation and assessment of valuations and variations.
  • Cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with contractual and commercial matters.
  • Preparation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved project profitability.
  • Maintain accurate commercial and project records.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
  • Previous construction experience is desirable; however, graduates and junior candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • For senior applicants, strong experience in construction cost management and commercial project delivery is required.
  • Residential construction experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider project team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commercial approach to construction.
