Support Workers & Psychology Project Workers

Supported Independent Living – New Single-Occupancy Service (Day & Overnight Shifts)

We are recruiting

  • Support Workers and
  • Psychology Project Workers

to join a new, single-occupancy Supported Independent Living service.

This service is being developed from the ground up to provide a bespoke, wrap-around support model, designed in close collaboration with the person being supported and guided by psychology-led, evidence-based approaches.

A central and essential part of these roles is the ability to build and maintain a respectful, professional, and trusting relationship with the person we support. This relationship underpins all aspects of support, decision-making, and daily practice.

About the Service

This is a single-occupancy service, meaning staff will work with one individual, allowing time to develop consistency, understanding, and meaningful professional relationships.

  • Daytime supports will be delivered in line with the New Directions framework, focusing on inclusion, choice, community participation, and personal development
  • Evening and overnight supports will promote safety, consistency, and wellbeing within the home environment

The service is:

  • Strongly person-centred and rights-based
  • Built on respect, dignity, and collaboration
  • Guided by a psychology-led framework
  • Supported by a Team Leader, psychology team, trainers, and operational staff
  • Designed to evolve in response to the person’s needs, preferences, and life goals

The service may become subject to registration with HIQA in the future.

In addition, they will:

This role is well suited to candidates with an interest in psychology who value frontline, relationship-based support.

  • Ensure the person’s voice remains central to all decisions

Daytime Support (New Directions Focus)

  • Support meaningful daily activities aligned with the New Directions framework
  • Promote community inclusion, skill development, and valued social roles
  • Encourage independence and participation in ordinary community life

Evening & Overnight Support

  • Provide calm, consistent, and respectful support within the home
  • Promote safety, comfort, and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate recording during overnight shifts

Psychology-Led Practice

  • Work in line with guidance from the psychology team
  • Support consistent implementation of agreed strategies
  • Engage in reflective practice and learning
  • Contribute to trauma-informed and psychologically safe approaches

Teamwork, Quality & Safeguarding

  • Work collaboratively with the Team Leader, psychology team, trainers, and colleagues
  • Participate in handovers, supervision, and team meetings
  • Uphold safeguarding, dignity, and professional standards
  • Follow policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines

Training & Support

  • Training in Studio 3 philosophies and approaches
  • Ongoing guidance and mentoring from the psychology team
  • Regular supervision and opportunities for reflective practice and professional development

  • Experience in a psychology-led or multidisciplinary service
  • Understanding of trauma-informed or positive behaviour support approaches
  • Relevant qualification (or working towards) in social care, psychology, or a related field
