Job Description

Position Overview

At Landline, Park Hotel Kenmare, we are committed to creating exceptional dining experiences through genuine hospitality, thoughtful service, and attention to every detail. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly professional Waiter / Waitress to join our Food & Beverage team and play an important role in delivering the outstanding standards of service for which the hotel is renowned.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury hospitality, a natural ability to anticipate guest needs, and a desire to create memorable experiences for every guest. This role requires warmth, professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to excellence in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Exceptional Guest Service

• Provide a warm, personalised, and attentive welcome to all guests, ensuring they feel valued from arrival through to departure.
• Deliver a refined and professional dining experience while maintaining a genuine and approachable manner.
• Develop an understanding of guest preferences and anticipate needs to exceed expectations.
• Engage with guests confidently, offering recommendations on menu items, beverages, and experiences.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, and concerns with professionalism, ensuring a positive resolution.

Food & Beverage Service Excellence

• Carry out all aspects of food and beverage service to the highest luxury hospitality standards.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary requirements.
• Present and serve food and beverages with elegance, care, and attention to detail.
• Ensure correct table presentation, including table settings, glassware, cutlery, and overall restaurant appearance.
• Maintain awareness of service timing, ensuring guests enjoy a relaxed yet efficient dining experience.
• Liaise closely with the kitchen, bar, and wider hotel teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Standards & Operations

• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation at all times.
• Follow all hotel procedures relating to food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and responsible service.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including preparation of the restaurant before service and resetting afterwards.
• Ensure all guest areas are presented to the highest standards throughout the day.
• Support colleagues and contribute positively to a culture of teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience within a high-quality restaurant, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment.
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional approach.
• Strong knowledge and interest in food, wine, and beverage service.
• A keen eye for detail and pride in personal presentation.
• The ability to remain calm, organised, and composed during busy service periods.
• A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
• A strong team spirit and willingness to support colleagues.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working within a five-star hotel or fine dining environment.
• Knowledge of wine service and beverage pairings.
• Familiarity with luxury service standards and guest expectations.
• Additional language skills are an advantage.
