At Ivy Lane Montessori & After School, we provide a nurturing Montessori environment where children are encouraged to learn and develop through their hands, hearts, and minds. Located in the heart of Dublin city, we are passionate about creating a warm, inclusive, and inspiring environment for both children and educators.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Montessori Teacher to join our close-knit team and support children's learning, development, and wellbeing throughout the day.

Please note: This position is open only to candidates who are currently based and settled in Ireland. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider overseas applications.

About the Role

This role is centred on supporting each child to learn, grow, and thrive within our Montessori environment, ensuring every child has the opportunity to develop through their hands, hearts, and minds.

You will work alongside our teaching team to help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Montessori work cycle and contribute to a calm, engaging, and well-prepared classroom environment.
  • Provide additional support to children who may require extra assistance to fully participate and thrive within the daily programme.
  • In the afternoons, provide flexible teaching support across the school, assisting educators and children as required.
  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with children, supporting their learning, development, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Assist with observations, learning journals, and developmental records.
  • Work collaboratively as a valued member of the teaching team.
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels respected, supported, and valued.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care & Education, Montessori Education, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Minimum one year's experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • A warm, kind, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Desirable

  • First Aid and Child Protection training.
  • Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta, and Tusla Early Years Regulations.
  • Experience working within a Montessori environment.
  • Interests, talents, or hobbies that can enrich children's learning experiences.

Role Information

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm.

School Calendar: Open 47 weeks per year, with paid closure periods including:

  • Two weeks at Christmas
  • One week at Easter
  • Two weeks in August
