We’re Hiring: General Operatives (Full-Time, 39 Hours per Week)

Location: The Nest Box Egg Co. Ltd, Monaghan

The Nest Box Egg Company processes over 5 million eggs each week, supplying supermarkets and businesses across Ireland and abroad. For over two generations, the McGuinness and Eivers families have been delivering cracking good eggs.

We are currently looking for two enthusiastic General Operatives to join our production team on a full-time basis, working 39 hours per week.

The Role:

As a General Operative, you will work as part of a team in our fast-paced production facility, carrying out a variety of tasks including production line work, sorting, inspection, packaging, and maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Additional weekday hours may be available depending on rota.

Key Responsibilities:

Work on production lines at various speeds.
Operate production machinery in line with food safety and health & safety procedures.
Measure and inspect products to meet quality standards.
Label, package, and handle products safely.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
Adhere to HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
Complete documentation as required and follow in-house procedures.
Support new employee training and assist with department improvements.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Team Leader.

About You:

We are looking for reliable, motivated individuals who can work well in a team, take instruction, and maintain high standards in a busy environment.

Skills & Attributes:

No previous experience required — full training provided.
Excellent attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
Good physical fitness (ability to lift up to 25kg).
Flexible, responsible, and able to work on own initiative.
Health & safety conscious and quality-focused.
Fluent English and good communication skills.
Own transport preferred but not essential.
