Role Summary

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our production kitchen team in Ballymun, Dublin, preparing fresh food and baked goods for our Coffeeangel shops.

As Kitchen Assistant you will work in our Ballymun Industrial Estate production kitchen in Dublin, preparing food and baked items that supply our Coffeeangel cafés across the city, earning between €14.14 and €14.40 per hour.

You will work with bakers and chefs to make bread, pastries, sandwiches, and other prepared foods, ensuring all breakfast items are ready by 05:00 so cafés can open at 07:00.


What You'll Do

  • Prepare ingredients: wash, peel, chop vegetables and portion proteins
  • Bake bread and pastries: scones, croissants, cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolat
  • Make sandwiches and other prepared foods to our recipes
  • Work in different areas: baking, sandwich prep, hot food to learn all parts of the kitchen
  • Keep your work area clean and organised
  • Check food quality and follow food safety rules (HACCP)
  • Help other team members and occasionally help deliver items to cafés
  • Use online systems for orders and food safety records
  • Wash and store kitchen equipment, utensils, and trays
  • Help keep all kitchen areas clean and hygienic throughout the shift


You Must Be

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Fast and organised
  • Able to work independently after training
  • Comfortable with early mornings (may start 01:00-03:00) or afternoon/evening shifts
  • Willing to learn cooking and baking skills
  • Patient and accept feedback to improve
  • Physically comfortable standing for the full shift
  • Willing to do different tasks as needed


Requirements


Essential:

  • Kitchen or food experience, or strong willingness to learn
  • Able to follow recipes and instructions carefully
  • Basic food safety knowledge (we provide training)
  • Basic computer literacy: email, online systems
  • Reliable transport to reach Ballymun Industrial Estate
  • Confirmed right to work in Ireland


Nice to Have:

  • Cooking or baking training or courses
  • Production kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of food safety (HACCP)

  • Pace: Brisk but well organised. Must meet 05:00 breakfast deadline daily.
