Receptionist – Accommodation & Restaurant

Silken Thomas is looking for a friendly, professional and organised Receptionist to join our team in Kildare Town.

This is a varied front-of-house role covering both our accommodation and restaurant operations. The successful candidate will be an important first point of contact for our guests, whether they are checking into their accommodation, making a restaurant reservation, contacting us by phone or email, or looking for assistance during their stay.

We are primarily recruiting for a full-time position, although we are also happy to consider suitable candidates looking for part-time hours.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests and providing a friendly, professional reception service
• Managing guest check-ins and check-outs
• Handling accommodation reservations, amendments and cancellations
• Taking and managing restaurant reservations
• Responding to telephone, email and online enquiries
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate guest accounts
• Providing guests with information about the hotel, restaurant and local area
• Liaising with accommodation, restaurant, bar and housekeeping teams
• Assisting with guest requests and resolving issues in a professional manner
• Monitoring bookings and helping to maximise accommodation and restaurant availability
• Completing general reception and administrative duties
• Ensuring reception and guest areas are presented to a high standard

• Comfortable using computers and booking systems
• Able to work independently while also being part of a wider team
• Reliable and punctual
• Calm and helpful when dealing with busy periods or guest queries

Previous experience in hotel reception, hospitality, restaurant reservations or customer service would be an advantage, but we are also willing to consider candidates with the right attitude and customer-service skills.

Hours & Availability

This is primarily a full-time position, although part-time applications will also be considered.

As Silken Thomas operates seven days a week, flexibility around availability is essential. The role will involve a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts, with working hours arranged according to the needs of the business.
