With an uncapped commission structure, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to significantly increase their earnings by developing new business opportunities, growing a portfolio of commercial customers, and building long-term relationships throughout Mayo and the West of Ireland.

The Role
This is a highly proactive business development role combining office-based lead management with regular visits to customers at their place of business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing JJ Burke Car Sales' commercial vehicle business by actively identifying new opportunities, prospecting for customers, and developing strong relationships with local businesses, fleet operators, tradespeople, agricultural customers and commercial vehicle users throughout the region.
This is not a traditional showroom sales role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable getting out into the marketplace, meeting customers face-to-face, making cold calls, generating leads and creating opportunities.
You will showcase our extensive range of Peugeot, Renault and Dacia commercial vehicles while helping businesses find the right vehicle solutions to support their operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Proactively generate new commercial vehicle sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and fleet customers.
- Prospect, network and cold call to develop new business.
- Regularly visit customers at their place of business.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective customers.
- Create and execute business development plans to grow market share.
Commercial Vehicle Sales
- Promote and showcase JJ Burke Car Sales' extensive commercial vehicle range.
- Understand customer requirements and provide tailored vehicle solutions.
- Prepare quotations and proposals for customers.
- Present finance, leasing and fleet solutions.
- Manage vehicle appraisals and trade-in opportunities.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial enquiry through to vehicle handover.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers.
- Ensure all customer interactions are managed professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate customer records using the dealership CRM system.
Performance & Targets
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Maintain strong product knowledge across all commercial vehicle ranges.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Represent the dealership professionally at networking events and trade shows when required.

Essential Requirements
- Previous sales experience in a customer-facing role.

- Full clean Irish driver's licence.
- Strong IT and CRM skills.
Desirable
- Experience in commercial vehicle sales, fleet sales or motor sales.
- Experience selling to business customers (B2B).
- Knowledge of finance and leasing products.
- Experience working in a target-driven sales environment.
Working Hours
- Full-time permanent position.
- 40-hour working week.
- Five working days per week, scheduled between Monday and Saturday.
- Flexibility required to meet customers and attend business appointments when necessary

This role will involve a combination of dealership-based activity and regular travel to customer premises throughout Mayo and the surrounding counties.
